The Incredible Story Of David (chiropractic profession) vs. Goliath (American Medical Association)

Many people are aware of the “riff” between Chiropractors and Medical doctors but that’s not really accurate. For a hundred years we have been attempting to coordinate patient care and help patients receive the best care possible. This attempt has long been one sided however.

In the mid 1900s, the AMA created a “Committee on Quackery”, with the primary goal of containing and eliminating the Chiropractic Profession. For decades, MDs were allowed to legally slander and intentionally dissuade the public from seeing chiropractors. After years of suffering through economic harm and having the public suffer from lack of access, the chiros eventually sued the AMA.

The whole story is incredible really, and if you are a chiropractic patient, I think it’s very valuable to understand the background of how your care process is available today because of a small group that fought for the greater good.
